Ok, its true, I am back with something really special and I wanted to update you all ASAP!

This is something I have not talked about at all, up until this point. Now, I am sure you already know all about the Rent A Site Model? A huge unique model that blows the socks off of local business owners.

Ok, this isn’t about the Rent A Site Model as such, but a new method I have been using silently for the past few months that the Rent A Site Model has a lot to answer for. As you know, the RAS Model is all about offering local business owners a chance to rent a readymade solution, a lead generating website based around SEO.

An awesome way in, and blows business owners away. Again, if you don’t know what I am going on about, check the link above, its powerful stuff!

Anyhow, back on track!

Over the past few months I have been working on a different model, one I have tested in the marketplace and have seen some AWESOME success. It is based around the Rent A Site Concept although completely different and this time it is focusing on Web Design! ; )

Now, this method I have now named as The Offline Trigger Method because it is not only a great way in to generate new clients in need of Web Design, but it is also a great way to TRIGGER a new relationship with a new client that can lead to some unbelievable UPSELLING!

What’s more, it is also really simple to execute and is highly profitable in itself, especially RESIDUALLY! ; )

Now, I did mention that I haven’t spoken about this at all before, there is good reason for that. I wanted to test this myself first. As you know, I ain’t about THEORY, I am about action and real working techniques as I am in the trenches with you, so I wanted to test this myself first!

The results have been awesome so far and now I am ready to share this with you!

The beauty is this model cannot saturate as people are working on this worldwide which is why I will share it. I am going to launch a brand new WSO after the weekend, hopefully for Monday! I am giving you the heads up now, so youcan be ready to jump on this ASAP, and get started with this yourself!

As with the RAS Model, this method is actually a complete business model in itself and I am going to lay it all out so you can follow and replicate this yourself!

Ok, its been a busy 2010 for me so far both on and offline!

And long may it continue!

But, I got 3 emails last week from other offliners out there looking for help! When I say, looking for help, they were actually asking if I could coach them personally!

My first thought of this was, cool idea, but I will NEVER have time to do that!

But it most certainly got me thinking! This isn’t the first time I have been asked. I remember when I started out, I would have killed for a mentor in this niche, not just for help, but for a confidence boost as well!

So, over the weekend I sat down and looked at the whole scenario!

So, I am currently toying with the idea, well, doing a little more than toying with the idea, this may become a reality in the next few months. I have a bit of work to do first though!

Ok, it seems like it has been an AGE since I updated here,

I have been verybusy off and online as well as sending out some awesome videos to my list! If you are on my list you know what I am talking about! ; )

Anyway, I thought with the launch of a new product of mine, I would come here and update now I finally have a little time to myself!

But I am back with a BANG!!!!!!!!

I have been sooooo busy but in good ways and have loads of projects going on at the minute (well it seems that way anyhow!)

Ok, it may have been a little while but I am back with some things for you to try out and a few little nuggets I have uncovered. Firstly, I have been busier than ever over the past month or so, but this hasn’t been by an influx of new clients, this time it has been on more work for existing clients, some of which have required some extreme management. But, I am seeing light at the end of the tunnel of management now and I can get to my blog and let you know what I have been up to!

With my offline business growing, I have also just acquired a new job site I intend to launch to the UK. It is a new project for me but one I can see huge profit in if I can gain some ground from the big boys, we will see over the next few months! Other than that, as mentioned, it has been fingers to the pulse on the offline business apart from another little product I have been trying to put together in parts.

It isn’t necessarily a offline product but may help some of you. I have been working with WORDPRESS for years now and I have been killing the SEO side of it, so I decided to put together a guide on optimal SEO for Wordpress and how I rank simple WP sites top page of Google. It is aimed sort of at newbie WP users but I am sure many WP users will get a lot out of it.

Well, it has taken a while to put together because I have been too busy and offline clients are more important obviosuly, so hopefully I will have it finished in the next week or so. Not a direct offline product but could help a few of you! You will know about it when it is ready! So, that is what I have been doing for the past few weeks/months!

Now to todays post and this tip I have been going on about!

Well, I have uncovered a little dime while playing around with Twitter, some of you may already be aware of this and it is still work in progress, so I will have to keep you updated! Now I have found that Twitter profiles can be extremely powerful! This may sound like a “Yeh, We Know” type of statement but I am not talking about gathering followers.

You see, we know that local geo targeted keywords are not the most competitive and I am sure this dime could not work as well with IM niches etc. or I am sure everyone would be doing it.

What am I talking about?

Well, I am talking about ranking TWITTER profiles in Google for local businesses!

Now, as I mentioned, this is work in progress for me at the moment and I wanted to let you in on the secret so you guys can test this as well. But from initial research and playing around I am seeing some very good results. As soon as I hit a top page position, I will post here! I have hit page 2 but not 1 yet, so I will post when I am page 1 with a profile!

What is promising though is that I have found that my twitter profile rankings are growing and climbing through the rankings daily!

So, how does this work?

Well, here is a simple step by step 30 second guide:

1. Choose a keyword that has less than 5k competing pages in “quotes”

I only focus on 1 keyword to begin with! The lower the competing pages are the better chance of hitting top page!

2. Fill out the profile with the keyword in mind!

Ok, what I mean here is, say my keyword is “Plumber Preston”  then I will fill out my Name as “Plumber Preston” and my username as  twitter.com/PlumberPreston. You actually only get 15 chracters so the shorter keywords work best here if you can find them. If it is a longer keyword I just take as many words as I can of the keyword. For example:

Keyword: Real Estate Santa Monica - Longer than 15 characters so I would shorten it too say: twitter.com/RESantaMonica

Get creative with it as this is work in progress! We have more opportunity to fill out keywords in the profile etc.

3. Create Profile and now we edit things!

4. First thing I do is post a new tweet surrounding the keyword, for example:

Plumber Preston: In need of a Plumber in Preston then we can help - Get in touch with the Preston Plumber!

5. I then fill out the profile, again basing it on the keyword and upload a relevant picture!

6. Ok, lets go link building and optimising!

The beauty with twitter is it is like a blog and because of the constant updates, your profile gets indexed real quick. You can type in the full twitter URL for your profile into google including the WWW and you will see if it is indexed!

We now build links!

Social Bookmarks, Directories etc.

This then starts to push the profile up through the rankings and if done properly can be a very powerful tool for building followers and also selling as part of your marketing packages etc.

The other added bonus of Twitter is you can constantly update it with keyword rich statements to keep pulling the search engine back! So make sure you post a tweet once a day and make sure the keyword is involved every now and then. You do not need to do it in every tweet as I have tested but keep it updated! ; )

Again, I will reiterate this is work in process and I am testing many things but wanted to throw that out there so you guys can have a play around with it!

It’s Sunday night here in the UK as I update my blog with a new post and I for one am looking forward to next week. I have a big week ahead and want to get stuck in. Both offline and online are going to be getting hit at all angles next week so let’s rock and roll!

The reason for the update was to just throw a few words out there for you guys on pricing your offline consulting services, probably one of the most asked questions I get from subscribers and blog readers. I also see loads of forum posts regarding this as well. So I thought I woudl throw my experience out there to help.

Ok, first things first, never give a price when you first consult a business!

Always go away and put a proposal/price together otherwise I guarantee you will most probably undercut yourself and in some cases by a lot. Trust me, I know, I have slipped up a few times with this. If a biz owner asks for a price right there and then. What I usually say is something along the lines of:

“I can’t give you a price, I need to go away and have a deeper look at the project, this way I can give you the best price possible as I know exactly what needs doing!”

This will work and you will be able to go away and think this through!

You then need to go away and look at the project more deeply. Look at what needs doing, how you are going to do it and of course how much work you are going to put in. Do this and work out a fee you would be happy with.

Then,

Add more on! ; )

Ok, here is a little tip. Always hit a business owner with a price higher than you want as in some cases you will get a YES anyway and get paid more for doing the same job. But the main reason for this is so you can move on price if initially the business owner is hesitant. If you price at a fee you want and the business owner is hesitant, you will then dip into your profit. The fact is, this is business and in the business world business owners negotiate. So with pricing a little higher you can negotiate without worrying about losing money.

Don’t worry about price as this should be the fun bit. Be flexible and go from there!

Now I know alot of you may be thinking, ok, that’s all well and good but what prices should I quote, what is a good price for our work?

The million dollar question!!!!

Ok, I cannot tell you what to price, it is impossible for me or anyone to do that but I have got tips on how to work this out and how I did.

Firstly, call up competitors everywhere and price up a job for an imaginery business. Whether it be SEO for a new site or an AR campaign. Pose as a business owner over the phone and find out what you will be paying elsewhere. This will give you a ball park figure of the going rate. However, you are not going to just use this as each business is different and you need to be flexible.

To find out what to price each job you need to ask questions, and lots of them!

YOU NEED TO CONSULT! After all, we are consultants right?

Questions such as:

How much do you spend on advertising the business now? Online and Off?

What budget are you working with?

How much do you profit per job on avg?

How much do you profit per sale on avg?

Dig deep! In some cases I have found out how much they turnover per year and this type of info allows you to work out who you are dealing with and what you are dealing with. Finding the above out will allow you to work out what you can charge to get a YES. Obviously the higher the figure the above questions bring will allow you to command higher. A little digging goes a long way and that is how you can price jobs effectively without guessing!

This however is not concrete and you will see many variations but allowing yourself to be flexible is crucial and askiwng questions will aloow you to price each job with confidence and conviction!

So, your job this week is to get out there, take my advice and put it into action!

Ok, if you follow my blog you will know that I VERY, VERY RARELY promote someone elses offline product. Alot of the products I see and come across I can tell straight away are just BS. Put together by someone who hasn’t done so much as dip a toe in the offline niche. They stand out by a mile and hence the reason I very rarely promote anything other than my own products here or via my email list.

Well, today there is an exception!

I have just recently carried out an OFFLINE SEMINAR WEBINAR detailing my experiences with offline seminars for offline business owners. Many reading this probably attended and I hope you all take what I taught away and put it too work.

Now, when I first put together my seminar offline I was very new to seminars having not previously carried one out before, so I asked a few questions and also purchased a few products to help me understand the whole process a little better. I carried the seminar out in the end perfectly without a hitch, generated new business and above all used many of my own tactics to good use.

BUT, THERE WAS A PRODUCT BEHIND MY SUCCESS!

There was a product I bought from a  friend a fellow brit Andrew Pearce. This product was indeed a seminar product focusing on his experiences with carrying out an offline seminar for offline business owners. Not only could I base my whole seminar on the slides as a guide but I could listen how Andrew delivered his and could quite easily put 2 and 2 together and make MONEY!

Ok, onto the next bit of exciting news.

Many of you reading will already know as you will have had an email which I sent this morning. But, for those that don’t know. Over the past few weeks I have been helping an IM friend of mine get their foot in the door of the offline arena. I put together a guide for her to use for prospecting. It is a no bullshit guide on how I prospect to the fullest. It is not for the faint hearted, only for the serious!

She took it on, took action and at the weekend followed the techniques and GOT CLIENTS!!!!!

She was absolutely ecstatic this morning when I spoke to her.

Anyway, she knows I have many guides, the majority of which she has, and told me to get this prospecting short guide out there. I thought I would post about this short TRUE story that happened only this week. Ok, so I was sat in my office on Wednesday this week and I had just finished with a few SEO jobs so thought rather than sit and relax, I will prospect the afternoon out over the phone.

Well, I have mentioned before, if you are put off by cold calling, it’s natural, I sometimes don’t feel like doing it, but it needs to be done to gain new clients quickly.

So, back to the story, Wednesday afternoon, I was sat down searching for leads and I thought why not try a new niche, Driving Schools and Instructors. Now this is a very good niche as they do make quite a bit of money and their target market is 16-20 year olds predominantly. (INTERNET USERS TO SAY THE LEAST)

Its a huge niche, I already knew this from back in my old sales job days. They always have mobile/cell numbers on their sites so you get right to the owner. The only issue is they are usually teaching, so it can be very tough to nail one down. This is why I don’t focus on this area all too often.

Anyway, I stumbled across this driving schools site by accident, I was searching for someone else. The first thing I noticed was that it was a well set out and organized site. It was in Google Maps but as far as Organic Rankings was struggling a little. This is a dream prospect for me, I can help this company I thought!

Anyway, while navigating the pages of the site I noticed an IM button, one of those “CLICK HERE TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE LIVE NOW!” I thought “You gotta be kidding, I bet no ones there!” So I clicked it!

Low and behold, 2 mins later a name popped up and a “How can I help you?”

SO I said: “I am actually looking to get in contact with the web marketing person!”

He said “Thats Me”

Voila I thought, so I proceeded to talk to them about who I am and what I do. He was throwing objections at me through INSTANT MESSENGER. lol

Like:

“I already have my SEO in check, I do it myself Thanks”

I thought, no way, so I pointed out some obviosu flaws and how I could fix them. I also said, I will prove my worth. Within 1 hour I will send over a full proposal and plan of action telling you all about what I do and who I am in more detail!

So, I went away and typed something up and emailed it!

I came in Thursday (yesterday) morning and the reply in my inbox was one of:

“When can I call you, this is something I want to speak to you about in much more detail!”

BAM, Case closed! I have actually yet to speak to him as I should be today or early next week about the possibility of working together on his website.

So, there you have it, the first appointment made through an instant messenger. : ) I actually think the fact there was no pressure on this converssation because we were both hid behind our screens helped this business owner to actually open up and listen to me seriously! I gurantee I am the only person to have prospected him through his IM before! ; )

I think the small moral to this story is:

GUARANTEED!
